Biotherm Aquasource 48h Deep Hydration Replenishing Cream

Hydration is necessary for everyone living anywhere with any skin type !

This Biotherm Gel cream is one of my favourite items that I must have on my shelf.
The green line is for normal combination skin while the pink line is for normal to dry skin.
Biotherm claims that this product can keep you hydrated for 48 hrs and that it contains no preservatives.



The price keeps on going up however...
In the States, it was $36 in Nov 2013, then now it's $47 !!
Maybe the price increased due to foreign exchange currency? 

There are a few ways how I like to use this product..

1) as a night cream gel (skin care), as a day time moisturizer, it is sometimes still too much for me

2) as a primer before I apply my make up -- having a layer of hydrated skincare helps your foundation stick onto your face much better!!

3) mix it with some foundation, the ratio should be 1 to 1, then apply it onto your skin, telling yourself that you are applying skincare and not foundation, this creates a natural and sheet look which sticks very well to your face. I took a bit of Biotherm Aquasource 48h Deep Hydration Replenishing Cream mixed with a bit of MAC Fixed Fluid SPF 15. The result is great!! It's very easy to spread and very hydrating. My make up is not too thick, not too thin, of course I followed with loose powder so my make up lasts longer. 

It smells refreshing, feels great and it is non-greasy too!!

Biotherm Aquasource Deep Serum

This is one of Biotherm's new products !!
They had a similar one long long time ago, known as Aquasource Gel, but it was discontinued
The Aquasource Gel was very light and it's suitable for day time
The Deep Serum is somewhat similar, but it's a little thicker in texture
It contains thermal plankton, a substance found in hot springs

It also contains micro pearls to help improve brightness physically
However, oily skin people would probably want to stay away from products with pearls.. yeah.. as if your face is not shiny enough you need something to bring it out even more...

My skin stays deeply hydrated and it feels good under make up
The smell is refreshing and it is non-greasy
I usually follow the serum with a moisturizer, but I find it not really necessary
This serum itself can serve as a moisturizer
With another moisturizer on top, it might feel a little heavy

Overall, I would say that this is a lovely product and I will for sure go for seconds !!

Biotherm Clarifying Exfoliating Gel

Now that Autumn is coming, our skin is getting drier.
It is very important that we keep our skin hydrated and clean at all times!!

I have been addicted to the smell of the biotherm green line (Aquasource) for awhile ~~
This line is for normal combination skin.
Biotherm also have the exact same product (pink line) for dry skin.

The texture is a light water gel with tiny exfoliating beads. 
It helps to cleanse, hydrates your skin.
At the same time, the exfoliating beads help to remove dead skin cells.
After using it, my skin feels healthy, radiant and fresh.

However, I wouldn't recommend using it every single day, cause your skin doesn't have that many dead skin cells, unless you live in a polluted country then yeah, you can use it every day.
I would recommend using this every other morning or at night. 

It doesn't give my skin any irritation and the cleaning power is quite strong.
It probably won't be suitable for sensitive or dry skin.
I love this product and will get it again and again and again.

One thing to keep in mind is to NEVER use an exfoliator to remove make up !!
I know that some of us are lazy and we don't want to use a make up remover and just use a cleanser instead. Exfoliators are NOT cleansers, they remove dead skin cells by digging into your pores. When used on clean skin, exfoliators will dig into your pores and get the bad stuff out, but when used on "dirty" skin, the effect is opposite... it will dig your make up into your pores.. which isn't a good thing at all!! 

Please remember that this is NOT a cleanser, it is something to remove dead skin cells ON CLEAN SKIN.

It's a good thing that Biotherm changed the price of all their cleanser and toners to be $19 from now on ~~

Baby Foot

I should have uploaded this post earlier, hope it's not too late now!!

I've tried a few Baby Foots and this is one of the best ones.
I bought this in Japan, I think it's also available in Hong Kong.

This is a deep foot exfoliating mask that renews your foot skin in 7-10 days
Wash and dry your feet, I would suggest doing the treatment after shower

Open the package and put on the 2 gel socks

Make sure the gel is touching your feet and close the opening by tying it with a string
After 1.5-2 hours, take the socks off and wash with luke warm water.

Amazing things happen....

Day 1 - 3 -- nothing happened
Day 4-6  -- the skin starts to peel ... then peels quite a bit

Day 7 -- by now your feet probably peeled like crazy
Day 8 -- the skin that comes off are big pieces of flakes!!!
Day 9 -- treatment complete by now, your feet should be renewed and soft

I know this foot mask is gonna make my feet peel like crazy
so I used it during summer time when I can wear sandals
I tried to stay away from socks, otherwise my socks will collect all the dead skin...
This is suitable for those who have accumulated a thick layer on your feet

Make sure you have enough entertainment before you put on the 2 gel socks
it's hard to walk in the socks and highly not recommended just in case gel leaks
also remove any toe nail polish before using this treatment

Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream

This natural green tea series uses 100% pure green tea water, contains high water moisture. 

Ingredients: 

Herbal extracts - hydration
Chamomile - reduces redness and irritation
Mint - protection  

Lavender - calms and relieves your skin

Catechin - anti-oxidizes, sanitizes and soothes sensitive skin

Most creams are thick, even the gel creams I have tried are thick for me 

But this one is ok, the texture is light and I don't find it greasy 

  

The anti-oxidant effect in green tea is 20x that of Vitamin E. 

Suitable to be used at night and during the summer time.
Green tea helps protect your skin against environmental damages such as UV rays.

Green tea also contains a rich supply of Catechin and Vitamin C.
Fast absorbing, refreshing and locks moisture to your skin.

After trying the toner, lotion, essence and cream from the Green Tea line, I have to say the series is great! I love using something light and not greasy, just that the smell is too perfumy...

Ingredients include herbal extracts and natural green tea, smells refreshing~

Green tea extracts suck water like a sponge, locks moisture to your skin, so down from the bottom to top, your skin will feel fully hydrated!!!

The essence is smooth in texture, fast absorbing, light, non-greasy, super hydrating and doesn't give me breakouts. However, after a few hours, oil forms on my skin... so I start to use it only at night. It helps stimulate your cells and replenishes your skin.  For sensitive skin, this can also be used to reduce redness.

Most suitable for the summer time since it contained so much water moisture.
It can be used day and night

Except for the smell, I love everything else about this essence ~~

Contains 87% pure green tea extracts, can penetrate into the surface of your skin and deliver water moisture to the bottom layer. It feels light in texture, super fast to absorb, leaving your skin hydrated at all times.

white opague color, light and thin in texture~

It forms a thin protective layer on your skin, does not leave a greasy feeling, feels fresh, but the smell is again a bit too strong... doesn't smell like green tea at all... rather perfumy... I feel like putting a perfume lotion on my face! I like to use skincare with a light scent, but hey... this is too much!!
