UV is an essential part of skincare, it's just as important as your toner, serum and moisturizer !!
The UV Protection Cream provides brightening and UV blocking.
It promotes skin's natural circulation, prevents future damage from harmful UV rays and gives a matte appearance. 

I don't really care if it can absorb into my skin, as long as it can act as a barrier against UV rays, I am fine

After applying UV protection, next comes make-up for the face

By then, there's already 5-6 layers (ie. primer, foundation/BB cream, loose powder/ pressed powder)

it feels thick... 

I didn't buy the full size for this one, I have a bunch of samples and have been using it for quite awhile now

White creamy texture, quite moisturizing

It's not considered oily compared to other UV protector

However, it's not refreshing either

I would say this one is for normal to dry skin or dry skin

When I apply it on my face, I feel a little bit of heat... kind of stimulate my blood circulation, but the heat disappears quickly. 

Ingredients such as Rhubarb extract brightens and clarifies the skin. Pomegranate calms the skin and promotes skin's natural circulation.

Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Whitening Eye Treatment

The price is ok, I've seen eye creams that range from $75 - $125.. like Lancome and Shiseido

I think they call this an eye treatment because there's a metal tip applicator that helps to massage and relieve tired eyes

I've noticed many brands having this applicator now, if not metal, then it's plastic.. their purpose serves the same, to help massage your eye area

Dior has a whitening eye cream too but it's ~$75

So for whitening eye cream, this one is quite reasonable

The cream is white and creamy in texture
It's quite thick, so don't apply too much

I had been using sample packets, because 1) I sell them, 2) they are more economical and 3) more clean.

Each packet is 1-1.5mL and lasts a few days

Just in case I need to switch to another eye cream for a few days, I am not pressured to come back to this one soon

I had been using this quite regularly during the day time and some nights

I do feel that my eye area became more brightened in terms of color tone

It won't remove your dark eye circles immediately though... it will reduce it significantly

Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Whitening Cream

Ingredients include Hedyotis extract which helps brighten the complexion by protecting the skin against free radical damage, Mulberry tree root extract which has a cooling effect on the skin.

Many people think we only use whitening products during the day. This is totally wrong!! 
At night time, between 12-2am, our skin undergoes an intense repairing process. 
Night cream contains higher levels on active ingredients to help boost skin repair and target your concerns. 
These ingredients help prevent melanin from forming and whiten your skin.

The creams I have tried so far are all thick and greasy, so I try to stay away from creams as much as I can. 
Surprisingly, the Snowise Whitening Cream is pretty light in texture! Easy to spread, non-greasy, absorbs quite well. 
This is one of my favourite cream!! 
Although it's quite pricy....
I really hate heavy stuff... even for night time, my skin just can't absorb all the moisture from thick creams!

Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Whitening Fluid

This is a whitening emulsion/lotion I like very much! 
it has a silky texture and kind of crystal like transparency. 
Even when I apply it on my skin, it feels so soft!! 
Ingredients consist of Korea medicinal herbs which aims to brighten, detoxify, clarify and even-out skin tone.    

 

The Snowise Whitening Fluid absorbs fast and can keep your skin moisturised for a long period of time. It absorbs quickly, leaving my skin smooth and soft. Mulberry extracts brighten dull skin. 
I also noticed my skin became a bit opague after using it for ~1 month. Rhubarb extracts prevent melanin pigment from forming. 

I am pretty happy with the results.

This is the most expensive product in the Snowise line...

The new packaging is way better than one from the past.. which was like 5mL x 6 bottles

This serum helps reduce and brighten pigmentation and protect skin from UV light and heat. The texture is thick but liquidy and absorbs quickly.  It has a strong herbal scent, but not irritating. 


Main ingredient and function:

- Rhubarb -- main whitening ingredient in the Snowise line, suppresses melanin from forming, brightens dull skin, improves metabolism 
- Morus Alba -- detoxifies
- White Ginseng polysaccharide extracts restores skin vitality

- Hedyotis Diffusa extracts stimulates skin's natural circulation, returning a clear and bright complexion

- Other ingredients -- concentrated Korea herbs that whitens your skin, stimulates blood circulation, drain away toxic impurities, keep your skin balanced

For whitening products, you usually see results in ~6 months time. I had only been using this whitening serum for ~2 months and my acne marks visibly lightened. For best results, wrap your face with your palm immediately after applying it, so the heat from your hand can help the serum absorb faster.

I wasn't going to review anymore whitening products, but since the sun is still quite strong even in North America, I feel I should review this set which has strong whitening effects... 

During the Summer, we do have to use whitening products to "prevent" ourselves from getting darker. After the Summer, when the sun is not as heavy, it's time that we use better whitening products to replenish and get whiter.

The Sulwhasoo Snowise line contains many kinds of Korea medicinal herbs, including Kozo, fermented soybean natto, rhubarb, marsh parsely, concentrated pomegranate, licorice root and white mulberry. These ingredients are intended to help brighten, clarify, detoxify and even-out skin tone. 
The Sulwhasoo products all have a herbal scent. 
I have used the whole whitening line for ~9 months. 

This line is suitable for the summer as well. 
The Snowise EX Whitening Water is a clear and gentle gel type toner. 
Since the texture is thick, it can provide deep hydration to dry skin. 
This whitening line uses nanotechnology, so particles can penetrate and be absorbed quickly. 
My skin sucks its water moisture like a sponge! 



After using First Care Serum, pour some Snowise EX Whitening Water on your hand (palm) and apply or massage on your face. 

I haven't applied the toner on my hand yet, you can see these dry fine lines on my skin.  

After application, the fine lines are not visible anymore!!  

I will give this toner a 4.5 out of 5 and will definitely get it again!!

Sulwhasoo Renodigm EX Dual Care Cream TPF 40, SPF 30, PA++

Originally I thought this is a moisturizing + UV protection cream, that's why it has the word "dual" in it... 

When a person's skin is exposed to the sun for 30 mins, skin temperature rises
This is the last step in Sulwhasoo (during daytime).

but it's not... it functions as a heat blocking and UV protection cream

TPF 40 stands for Thermal Protection Factor and blocks 40% of the heat exposed to your skin. It prevents the aging of your skin by reducing damages caused by the heat

This is the first time I came across a product with this property

The main ingredients that contribute to TPF has the following functions:

- calms down rough and dry skin

- prevents skin problems and aging of the skin by reducing stimulation caused by heat

- minimizing skin oxidation and prevents your skin from becoming dark

It has a creamy texture, beige in colorBesides having heat blocking and UV protection, it also provides moisturizing and anti-aging effects.

I quite like the packaging, you press once and the product comes out from the middle around the circle

one pump is good enough for the face

Laneige used to have a Snow Dual Foundation with the same pump.

Since this product protects your skin from heat, if you live in a hot country, you can use this at night time too
Studies have show that when skin is repeatedly exposed to heat, elasticity decreases and aging increases
Once it reaches 37 degrees, the number of blood vessels increases, which increases the overall skin area.
As a result, collagen and other elasticity structures are destroyed

I use it as a sunscreen

However, if you are going to use this product, I suggest using something light underneath...

for example, use a lotion/ emulsion and not a cream

I used this for ~4 weeks and somehow I think this product is a little too much for me....
It has a rich ginseng scent which disappears after you apply on your face
After you apply it, most of the cream gets absorbed quickly

It delivers nutrient-rich ginseng into the deepest layer of your skin to renew and replenish

Texture is creamy, rich, a little heavy and too moisturizing for me...

I think this would be suitable for those with dry or even very dry skin

Although it is quite heavy for my skin, but it doesn't cause acne

It actually cleared up my pimples quite a bit

However, it leaves behind a shiny & thin layer on my face

My skin is combo to oily.. I really hate it when it shines... so this thin layer makes me feel I need to go wash my face right away...

I've also noticed my skin tone being more even and glowing !!

I would recommend using this product at night, even if you have dry or very dry skin

This is my favourite cream, not only in the Sulwhasoo line, but overall out of all the creams I've tried, this is my favourite one!

Ingredients include many Korean herbal plant extracts.

I usually only use cream at night because the texture is thicker than lotion. 
But with the Firming Cream, I can use both day and night, it absorbs fast and doesn't make my face greasy!! 
Next morning I wake up, my face feels clean. 
I have been using 5mL mini jar samples, because it's cleaner and I can switch to other products at times. 
5mL can last ~2 weeks provided that I only use it at night. 

I noticed my skin was moisturized! Fine lines decreased, firmness and elasticity definitely increased in my skin. 

This would definitely be a product I would recommend to others.

Sulwhasoo Essential Balancing Emulsion

The Sulwhasoo Essential Balancing Emulsion can be used alone and not in combination with the previous Sulwhasoo products.
This is the 6th step in the Sulwhasoo process used after the .Essential Revitalizing Serum/ Herblinic Restorative Ampoules

It functions to provide hydration and oil control

It has a light herbal scent which is the same as the Essential Balancing Water (warm, calm and relax)

It is a white colored light lotion that absorbs deeply and easily.

Suitable for all skin types but since the texture is between lotion and cream, I would recommend the following:
- combo to dry and dry skin people should use it during the day
- combo to oily and oily skin people should use it during night time, alternatively you can use the Firming Cream or the Concentrated Ginseng Cream
- those who live in cold countries like North America can use it during day/night no matter what skin you have, but dry skin people should use a cream on top of it too

This line is suitable for age 25 and up.

Sulwhasoo products are something that will give you results.
After using all the products in the order below, my skin became less oily, has less pimples/acne and became more hydrated.

It contains a strong natural anti-oxidant ingredient (Machilus Tree) which revitalizes the skin and restores its vitality.

According to the Sulwhasoo website, the treatment serum promotes skin renewal and diminishes skin roughness.

I am really unsure why it costs so much money.... there are lots of serum that provides this kind of effect. 
My skin isn't rough, so it's hard to tell rather or not this product can improve uneven skin texture and roughness.
I do find that it provides hydration and I love the silky texture too!!

This is the 4th step in the Sulwhasoo process, to be used after the First Care Activating Serum

The Balancing Water is a toner, but the texture is a light gel that spreads easily and absorbs fast.
You don't need to use a cotton pad, otherwise you would need to use 3x as much and it's such a waste, just pat it on your face
It has a light herbal scent that is warming, calming and relaxing
Suitable for dry or combo to dry skin
It belongs to the Basic Line in Sulwhasoo and only provides hydration and moisture
It helps foundation to better stick on your face
It also controls oil and reduces acne
Since it's stored in a glass bottle, the gel is always in a cool temperature
I always prefer to use products that give an effect, such as whitening or anti-aging...
So for a Sulwhasoo toner, I would prefer using the Snowise EX Whitening Water or this one

Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum

The Sulwhaosoo First Care Activating Serum is one of the main products in the brand. This is the 3rd step of the Sulwhasoo program. Usually you apply toner then serum, but the First Care Activating Serum is used BEFORE a toner.

I am not going to go through the ingredients again... they are all on the main page

I didn't buy the First Care Activating Serum, I was using a few samples but already fell in love with the product!!  I bought some on the internet, 4mL x 12 for ~$23 USD.  



It absorbs right after I applied it onto my skin. 
I smell ginger, but it wasn't strong. 
The herbal scent is quite calming and relaxing. 
I wonder if it contains any lavender or similar kinds of relaxing herbs...?? 

After cleansing, put ~1 pump onto the palm of your hands, warm it up then gently massage onto your skin and wrap your face with your 2 hands. 
The heat from your hands help to increase absorption.  
Any remaining serum just gently pat onto your skin.
Having used this product, I would love to have a chance to experience doing a Sulwhasoo facial !! 
I can imagine how relaxing it would be!! 
But not sure where I can find a place...

I noticed my skin tone became more balanced, moisturized, radiant and pores are finer. I will definitely continue to use this product!!

Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Foam

Suitable for dry, sensitive, combination to dry skin, and combination skin.  Those with oily or combination to oily skin might find it not clean enough...

The Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Foam is the 2nd step of the Sulwhasoo program. Ingredients include white birch and Korea fir tree extract. There is a bit of heat as I was using it to clean my face. This heat helps to increase blood circulation.

A gel like cleansing form, add warm water and it will foam up. There's not a lot of form but its cleansing ability is quite good!! Since the texture is a gel, it doesn't dry up your skin and after cleansing, you will feel hydrated.

In the morning, I only used the Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Foam.
In the evening, after using the Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil to remove my make up, I will follow with this cleansing foam to make sure no impurities are trapped in my skin.

Again, it does have a herbal scent, but not too strong, acceptable.

Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil

This is the first step in the Sulwhasoo cleansing process. The product has a strong herbal smell which I am not quite used to. It also acts as a make up remover.

Ingredients include: Jaeumdan, Jaeumboweedan and other Korea herbs

Use ~2 pumps for the entire face, gently massage onto your skin to remove your make up. You will feel a little bit of heat, this helps to increase blood circulation. It is recommended that you use the cleansing oil prior to using the Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Foam in the morning, this will soften your skin before cleansing and help make up stay on longer. 

Let's test for it's ability to remove make up!!

I used Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing oil and massaged for 15 secs


Rinse with warm water 
You can see very clearly that the area I just washed is very moisturized
It's more radiant than the other areas




Now I have Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 on my hand


I used Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing oil and massaged for 15 secs


The milky mixture is forming...  


Wash with warm water 
The area I just washed is very moisturized


I am quite happy with it's ability to remove make up!!
I have only been using it as a make up remover.
I will get this product again for sure!!
